On July 29th 2004, Tom Manuel, proprieter of  Tom's Cafe , passed away, before his passing he turned over stewardship of the Cafe to Noodles who has kept it running until a couple days ago.

Tom's Cafe will now be a memorial to his activisim in promoting fashion freedom for males. As a replacement, Noodles created the Skirt Cafe , and has handed it over to Bob who will continue with the hosting of it as a place for males to get information and express their ventures into alternative clothing.

Did Pedophilia Hysteria Cause Child's Death?
The News - Articles in the media

I just read a fairly disturbing article Did Pedophilia Hysteria Cause Child's Death?

I can understand when females say they are not treated equally, my own mother is a victim of the discrimination she faces for being a female.

But I dare any female to say males have it better then females after reading this article.

I have more thoughts on this issue, but will have to post them later.

My name is Steven

By Steven Arness

What's in a name? A great deal in some cases with many people out there, not only is it the word you answer to, you embrace it as your own and define yourself around it. My name? My name is Steven, such a plain and ordinary name, nothing really special about it unless you knew me. Then you would realize I relish my name, it defines who and what I am. Which is kind of odd is it not? Its just a name after all, not a color or shape, names like red and round define things, surely a name like Steven could not be used to define such things.

But my name does exactly that, it is the same name my Dad feared that I would drag through the mud if the public ever found as to who I was. It is the same name that has invigorated me to continue being me, after all, it is my name is it not? And I have a great name, while common, it instills fear into people who know me and makes my enemies tremble. My name is no coward, it faces it's enemies and strikes them down, and those who fight it wish they had never picked a fight with it.

My name speaks volumes for me and it speaks the truth which is why my name is always the same. What is this you say? Why would your name change? For what reason? Many of you know why as you want to express yourself differently then what your given name is. Having a different name allows you the freedom to express yourself in ways your other name did not allow. Having a different name opens new doors of expression and enjoyment, and here we thought a name could do no such thing.

People may think they need to change their name so they can change themselves, fortunately for me, my name is Steven. And since it is Steven, no matter what I do, or what I wear, will ever change it.

Crossdressing Support Groups
Articles - Life
Written by Steven Arness
Saturday, 25 March 2006

Ok, I'm going to repost something I sent to a crossdressing support group, I took out any references and such as I just didn't feel like retyping all my thoughts as there pretty good as is in my opinion.

Something else I want to say is that out of the couple crossdressing groups I visited, my choices in clothing would be more restricted in attending the meeting then if I was on the other side of the meeting door. In fact many of the groups say I have to play the part of the clothing that I am wearing, that is, if I'm wearing a skirt I have to wear a wig and get breasts and some even insist on a female name, no thanks I said.

-----------------------

I understand the reasoning to change ones name to reflect who you are on the inside, it just doesn't work for me, and maybe others, that they need to change their name if they wear clothes from the other side of the aisle. Many males are severely oppressed in their choices of clothing, I don't think that any male that wants to wear something other then trousers has to portray themselves as a female and pick a female name when they do so.

Clothing for me does not have a sex, it's the rest of the package that defines as to wether one should fit into being a male or female. But even that does not work for me as I do not associate someone with long hair, answering the phone, nurse, housekeeper, etc as having to be a female person. Nor do I think someone who works on cars, does construction, owns a company, etc as having to be a male person. I do not see one sex as only being able to do certain things (well, ok, you got me on the reproductive part but thats nature) while the other sex is not. Many such restrictions are a societal  thing such as the clothing one wears. And don't take this the wrong way, but I think males are oppressed to the point that often their only escape is to escape completely and become something else. And the only reason they have to is because we as a society condemn males who appear soft and thus force them to express it in other acceptable and alternative ways.

Don't get me wrong, I think there are many males we are born in the wrong body just as there are females who are born in the wrong body, with life being as complicated as it is, such a thing is not beyond happening. But we as a society continually dictate as to who can do what, and males in my opinion are overly oppressed in being able to express themselves in non masculine ways while females have much greater freedom to do so. We as a society continually reinforce that only males are allowed to do that and only females are allowed to do this, I find the whole thing a bunch of rubbish. But that's how we as a society do such things and while it is usually ok for a female to take on traditional male roles and demeanors, it is not ok for a males to take on traditional female roles and demeanors. Females who cross the line can be called "inspiring", "tomboys", "leaders", and even "macho" while males who cross the line are "sissies", "faggots" and/or "perverted"

In my opinion, the majority of problems with males, and why they do some of the horrific things they do, is that society has so thinly defined the male persona, that they are severely restricted in the ability to express themselves in non aggressive methods.
(modern) Females are allowed much more latitude in doing almost anything they want without such restrictions, it's illegal to deny a female a mechanics job (it's still done, but there are laws on the books) Females can also express themselves through their outside appearance more freely then males (just look at the Emmy or Oscar awards) While some people may oppress females and/or try to hold them to traditional standards, most suffer little repercussion if they disobey.

Hence in my opinion as to why there are so many males out there that express themselves as females as doing so lets them do things that society can accept.

Hence why I do not call myself a crossdresser either, what I am wearing is my clothes, they may be styled after, and may look, exactly like typical female clothing, but I am wearing them and they are my clothes. As someone once told me, "If I wanted to crossdress as a female, I'd wear pants"

Target
Articles - Life
Written by Steven Arness
Friday, 24 March 2006

The other day I stopped at a Target store looking for some things before I headed out for a trip, this was a brand new store and one of the biggest I've visited.

Overall however it was a bit disgusting, the amount of square footage devoted to female apperal and items was staggering, if I had a bit more time I could of had some fun browsing and when I blinked I had missed the male clothing area.

Of course they were gearing up for summer  so they had a lot of stuff out for that, but once again all I saw advertised on pool products, outdoor games and other items were females. Only once did I see a picture of a little boy for a singlet designed for flotation (in blue of course)

And don't get me started on the girls section, there must have been six asles devoted to dolls, jewelry, games, dressup, and what not, exasperating to say the least.

Can anyone tell me that with all this as to why females get to shop both sides of the asle while most males bar themselves from the other?

Man Dressed as Women
The News - Articles in the media

Wee, of course stuff like this always makes it on the news, what else do they have to report on? Perhaps something like people feeding the hungry? Or people donating their time to help others?

Nah, a guy dressed in female clothing in the library is considered lewd behavior and makes it on the news just like all the other males who do nothing more then wearing non-traditional clothing. If they wern't, then it wouldn't be newsworthy, just how many drunk people can they report on in six hours of news in one day anyways?

My bad, I didn't even give you the article yet,

 http://www.wkyc.com/news/news_article.aspx?storyid=49617&provider=top

They say Samuel McGilton was arrested for lewd behavior, they don't say what he did, supposedly the crossdressing part was secondary in nature and not why he was arrested. The pictures they have from the surveillance camera shows nothing more then him sitting in a chair. I'd really like to understand how they came up with that as being lewd, but as typical with the media, they just tell you what they want to get your attention and don't really give you the rest of the facts.

Honestly he must have been doing something more then their telling or showing as I've been to the library in a skirt and didn't get arrested. Course I was still me and not trying to change my sex. (yes, sex, not gender like the media says since there afraid to use the S word)

Ok, so after I wrote this I found some additional information on what happened.

Lets put it this way, if Mr. McGilton did what he did, he certainly didn't make it look any good for men who want to wear non-traditional clothing when they are out and about. In fact, masterbating in a public area is bad enough, but wearing a wig and a dress? Thanks a lot, course someone like me needn't worry as I'm not about to do either one of them in public!

The News - Articles in the media

Heres an article that appeared in the news, mostly it kinda stinks as this isn't too far from where I live, and occasionaly visit.

http://www.newsnet5.com/news/8170196/detail.html

I'd reprint it, but most likely i'd get into trouble for doing so, if I think about it, I'll send them an email asking if I can reprint it.

According to the article and the police, it looks like Donathan Rodgers was killed only because he looked like a female. I'm not sure, and someone can correct me, but how amny women were killed when they started wearing trousers? And while I'm talking about it, I ran across a lady at Home Depot two days ago that I didn't know she was a female till I heard her talk. Short crew cut hair, jean pants, jean jacket, mostly masculine look, most likely she's still alive.

Since they killed him the police are involved since it still is murder for doing so, if they had just beat him up, they may not have done anything since Ohio doesn't have any laws protecting people such as him or anything related to hate crimes.

In fact, in Ohio, my neighbors dog has more protection then a guy being a victim of a hate crime, not that I don't like dogs, but you think it could at least be equal? I've tried talking to my congresman and other public officials, but they just seem to turn a blind eye since nobody has ever bothered replying to my inquires.

Yahoo!

Well, after I forget how many years, Yahoo! has deactivated my profiles and groups.

Of course they give the typical answer to why as "may have violated terms of service"

Thats like a cop giving you a ticket because you may have broken the law, Yahoo! refuses to answer my emails with anything other then the constant repitition that my account was deactivated as I "may have violated the terms of service"

Of which I can't see how I violated the terms of service, I keep reading it and there is nothing in there that I was doing that would violate it.

Bet hey, Yahoo! is Yahoo! and seems they can do whatever they want to their members and not suffer for doing so.

If Yahoo! has ever done somthing goofy to you, I suggest writing a letter to the CEO, Terry Semel, and given him a heads up. I'm not sure if it works yet as I'm still awaiting my reply, but it's worth a shot.

Jeez oh weez!

Can you say spam? I've been pretty busy with some advocy and what not to come back and find over 150 comments of spam!

Was bad enough with the occasional Casino stuff coming from Tiwan (had to ban a whole IP range to stop that!) but now getting teen sex and rape sites?

I'll have to turn all the logs over to the athorities, hopefully they can trace it back and stop these idiots at least, course others will just step and do it again.

And while I hate to do it, all the comments are now moderated, I was hoping to keep it open, but the idiots are to many in number to be nice.

At least you don't have to be a member to leave a comment, yet.
